A Family Ranch for Struggling Boys
Welcome to Triangle Cross Ranch
Triangle Cross Ranch (TCR) is located in Wyoming on an authentic 50,000-acre “working” cattle ranch. Our program offers a solution for families with struggling boys ages 10-17. TCR’s behavioral modification center includes an on-campus school, allowing us to focus on therapy, vocational training, and technical education. Teens dealing with negative behaviors enhanced by their environment are provided a necessary cultural change. Here, boys are free from social media, technology, and are far removed from the temptation of drugs, alcohol, sex, and peer pressure.
At TCR, we provide individualized care for every young man in our program. Whether their behavior stems from a lack of positive male role models or peer pressure and addiction, our program is effective. By allowing only 10 young men into our care at a time, our staff can provide a unique hands-on approach and create a healthy family atmosphere while providing masculine guidance.
Our program uses both Christian ideals and the “Code of the West”—an honorable and manly way of life—that helps teens find value in honesty, integrity, simplicity, and determination. We believe that cowboy ethics are still alive and well in Wyoming, and by bringing this way of life to a struggling teen, we can change them for the better.
The Code of the West
- Live each day with courage
- Take pride in your work
- Always finish what you start
- Do what has to be done
- Be tough but fair
- When you make a promise, keep it
- Ride for the brand
- Talk less and say more
- Remember that some things aren’t for sale
- Know where to draw the line
World-Class Behavioral Rehab Center
The boys who have attended here and their families have found that the culture we provide on our family operated cattle ranch is successful in educating the mind, strengthening the body, and building the spirit of our students so that they will be more self-confident and successful when returning home. With roughly 30 years of experience, TCR not only repairs the damaged self-esteem of the struggling adolescent but also helps mend the family relationships that his poor decisions have negatively impacted. We believe that every boy who comes to Triangle Cross Ranch is intrinsically good and capable of receiving the help they need to better their lives, they just need a place free of worldly distractions to do so. Here, they’ll find a path to integrity, healthy relationships, and balance.
Triangle Cross Ranch’s approach is unique; learning comes while mentoring each child and engaging them in challenging activities routinely performed on a cattle ranch. While doing so, our mentors are able to help the at-risk teens who enter our program reveal their hidden strengths and talents. We believe that it is by directing, rather than suppressing, the risk-seeking behaviors of our boys that we are able to create young men who are strong, goal-oriented, and excited about their futures.
Triangle Cross Ranch is owned by Jerry Schneider, the founder of Mt. Carmel Youth Ranch, who has over two decades of experience helping young men who are struggling to reform their lives. By using Jerry’s unique mentoring philosophies on a farm and ranch environment, Triangle Cross Ranch will instill in your son the traditional ethics and values upheld in our “cowboy culture.” In fact, our predecessor program, Mt. Carmel Youth Ranch, was featured in the film The Code of the West: Alive and Well in Wyoming*, where the inherent therapeutic value of the cowboy lifestyle is explained and celebrated.
We have also been featured on Catholic Recovery Programs.
* We extend sincere gratitude to the “Center for Cowboy Ethics and Leadership” (www.cowboyethics.org/workshops) for its portrayal of our program in “A Different Culture: Mt. Carmel Youth Ranch” featured in The Code of the West: Alive and Well in Wyoming.
Building character, strengthening spirits, and getting back to the basics.
We are so confident that we can produce lasting change through our program that we offer a guarantee: if your son relapses back to his previous behavior within the first 6 months of Graduation after a successful 12 months in our care (or longer), and if the Director determines that he needs more time at TCR, we will take your son back free of charge for 30 days.
Our adolescent program is licensed by the Wyoming Department of Family Services to help at-risk young men, ages 10-17. If your son is 18 or older please visit our young adult program at beartoothmtascent.com
A troubled mind isn’t any use to a young man. Educate the mind and learn how to think and react with purpose.
A troubled spirit is a heavy burden to carry. Lighten the pack and rebuild the damaged spirit.
A weak body won’t carry you through the tough moments of life. Let your internal strengths shine outwardly.
