For many parents, sending their boys away to a place like Triangle Cross Ranch is a big and often intimidating decision. When they decide that their boy needs professional help, we know that parents want to send their boys to the best treatment center available to get their son the help they need. So, in an effort to help answer the question of whether Triangle Cross Ranch is right for their son, we thought we would highlight a few of the things that make us different.
Using the Cowboy Lifestyle
Our facility is located on a 50,000-acre cattle ranch in Wyoming. As part of our treatment program, we have our boys help with the day-to-day chores to help keep the ranch in working order. Additionally, we teach them basic horse care, cowboy ethics, and to find joy in hard work, determination, integrity, and simplicity.
The Code of the West
At Triangle Cross Ranch, we are proud of our western heritage and the lessons it has taught us. Specifically, what we call “The Code of the West” is a list of some of the lessons that we feel are most important, and those lessons are the lessons we teach every boy that participates in our program. They are:
- Live each day with courage
- Take pride in your work
- Always finish what you start
- Do what has to be done
- Be tough but fair
- When you make a promise, keep it
- Ride for the brand
- Talk less and say more
- Remember that some things aren’t for sale
- Know where to draw the line
Our outdoorsman program offers a unique opportunity to teach boys important lessons in a fun and adventurous way. Centered around hunting, fishing, and trapping, the outdoor activities that we participate in provide a great way for our boys to relax and have some fun while practicing important values such as communication, dependability, and efficiency. We also offer father and son hunts at no additional cost, so you and your boy can deepen your relationship while enjoying the beauty of the Rocky Mountains.
We understand that no two boys who walk through our doors are alike; they all have their own unique struggles, goals, and personalities. That is why we treat every boy on an individual level, providing them with regular therapy sessions that help them to work on their specific challenges. Using reality therapy, cognitive behavioral therapy, behavioral-emotional therapy, and conflict resolution for recovery and relapse prevention, we help them overcome their flaws and become valiant men.
